Taiwanese Economic system Minister speaks to TSMC in regards to the scarcity of automobile chips

TAIPEI (Reuters) – Taiwan’s Minister of Economic Affairs, Wang Mei-hua, spoke to senior executives at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd. on Sunday. (TSMC) on the global shortage of car chips, the ministry said on Monday.

The ministry said TSMC has told them that they will “optimize” the chip production process to make it more efficient and prioritize auto chip production if capacity can be further increased.

TSMC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
